Traveling to Stamford

The Festival does not oversee general transportation or flights to and from the festival for participants. However, since we want your trip to be happy and problem free, we do arrange for an airport shuttle, provided by the Stamford Endowed School, to take participants to and from London's Heathrow Airport at the start and end of the festival. In addition, we are happy to help and advise you with your plans and if you choose to make your own plans to travel in England the journey to Stamford is made easy by a regular train service and convenient road network that places it a short journey from many major towns.

Travel Confirmation & Tips
For your confidence and peace of mind we ask that all students and festival guests inform the festival administration of all their final travel plans and provide emergency contact information. Students, guests and legal guardians are advised to arrange read the Festival's Participation Agreement and arrange appropriate travel insurance (including medical cover) for the extent of their trip. All international travelers are advised to check that they have current and appropriate documentation to travel to the UK i.e. current passports and in some special cases visas.

Airport Shuttle
The festival offers participants a return shuttle service from London's Heathrow Airport to Stamford at the start and at the end of the festival. The shuttle is operated by the Stamford Endowed Schools by arrangement with the festival. An additional fee of $50 (US) or £25 (UK) covers the return trip. The shuttle runs a very limited schedule so it is important that you consult with us before booking your flight. We will give you details of the times the shuttle runs and you can make your plans accordingly. Space is limited so please reserve your ticket early!

By Car

Stamford is about 100 miles from Central London just off the A1 - one of the primary roads linking north to south. When traveling from London take the M25 (the circular bypass that rings the edge of London) to the A1 (M) on the north side of London. Head north on the A1(M) and it turns into the A1. Shortly after passing Peterborough you will see signs for Stamford.
