About Us

The Stamford Music Festival was founded in 2004 by violinist Andrew Smith, with  fellow members of the Castillon Piano Trio, Andrea Mills and Joseph Bognar and pianist, Wayman Chin, Dean of the Longy School of Music, Boston.

Based upon the such renowned summer retreat centers as the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachussestts, the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, and the more intimate chamber music festivals such as Yellow Barn Music Festival in Vermont, the Stamford International Music Festival combines a summer retreat centre for musicians from around the globe with an exciting and vibrant concert series where the public can hear the entire gamut of the chamber music repertoire, from important mater works to less familiar works.

After less than a decade, the festival now attracts an array of students and professionals from around the globe.

Our activities and concerts are supported by an array of Sponsors, Advertisers, Patrons and Friends.

Visit out archive pages to find out more about the musicians who have attended, the premieres that have been presented and the repertoire that has been performed. This impressive array of achivements is testament to the commitment of a dedicated performance faculty.
